Our Approach
Monkey Watch South Africa, in Johannesburg, uses weatherproof, tube-shaped devices to deter baboons and monkeys with high-pitched sounds. These devices have tailored hearing ranges, effectively reducing animal presence over time. The units come with a six-month warranty, excluding postage costs.

Our Story
The Beginning:
From Barking to Better Behaviour
Monkey Watch SA began its journey in 2005 with the launch of "Dog Watch," a solution developed to address the challenge of nuisance barking. From the start, our mission was to find a humane and effective way to manage animal behaviour through advanced technology.

Our work soon caught the attention of the renowned Dr Greenberg, a specialist in Ethology (the scientific study of animal behaviour). This partnership became the foundation of our development process. We rigorously tested our units at Dr Greenberg’s clinic, refining our designs based on his expert clinical observations.

This collaboration led to his formal endorsement and many years of referrals. We were also privileged to be guest speakers on his popular 702 talk radio programme, "Dr Platzhund." I give full credit to Dr Greenberg for the incredible knowledge, wisdom, and expertise I gained from him regarding animal behaviour.

A Legacy of Local Expertise
While Monkey Watch was established in 2005, our roots in the South African electronics industry go back over 50 years. This technical foundation, combined with 25 years of specialised experience in the research, development, and manufacturing of animal deterrent systems, makes us leaders in the field.
We are proud to be the only South African company that develops, designs, and manufactures ultrasonic animal products right here on home soil.

Our Global Footprint
In 2008, at the SA Veterinary Association Animal Behaviour Exhibition in Johannesburg, we continued to grow our network, connecting with industry peers like Heather Hiscox from Dazer (as featured in The Witness newspaper).
